Dave’s English version:

For the past 6 months I’ve been looking forward to this transalp adventure with great anticipation. It’s been an interesting mix of excitement and nerves as I prepared myself to cross roughly 450km in a week with thousands of meters of elevation gain.

In my opinion our first day of riding went very smoothly. There was a good amount of rain and thunder on the radar but we were lucky enough to avoid all but a few drops. As far as difficulty goes, this was one of the easier days, but I was definitely feeling a bit tired near the end of the ride. The outstanding views certainly made up for this and I’m looking forward to more beautiful landscapes as our journey progresses.

I believe a trip like this is something that few people get to experience so I feel very lucky to be out here in good company exploring the world.
